Tea Bowl ("One Hudred and Eight" project)

Tea Bowl ("One Hudred and Eight" project)

SKU: 108

These bowls from my "One Hundred and Eight" offering bowls project are available for sale as part of the "WILDfundraiser" and I will be donating 50% of all sales to the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales.

Please note each bowl is unique and the photos in this listing are examples of some of the bowls.

“One Hundred and Eight” offering bowls project (as the number of Mala prayer beads used in Buddhist, Hindu and Yogic traditions) explores the making process as a form of meditation in repetition of form.

The bowls were made with wild clay from the Preseli Moutains. The clay was dug and processed by students at Coleg Plas Dwbl, young adults with learning difficulties.

The offering bowls were inspired by traditional Korean punch'ong pottery and Japanese kohiki ware. The finished bowls were wood fired and then placed in the ancient Gors Fawr stone circle near Plas Dwbl where the clay was dug from the ground.
